Dear Customer:
Thanks for taking the time to enter this section. The text will take a couple of minutes of your time to read, but should go a long way in helping you understand what we sincerely believe sets us apart from other retailers. We hope it helps you make a better-informed decision.
As you spend time researching scooters, you will notice that you essentially have two choices. The first choice are units such as Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, et all. Great units, great after-sale support. The problem for most customers: the PRICE! The other problem, the SIZE. The choices are puny 80-125 displacement scooters, or they go right up to the 400-650 displacement class. Pretty much nothing in between.
The second option: Chinese "knockoff" scooters, 90% of which are found on the internet, 95% of which are either 50cc or 150cc clones of each other. Which should tell you all you need to know. In our opinion no option at all. We could write volumes on these third-world copies, but spend some time researching it yourself. In general, lousy quality, they can't get out of their own way, NO PARTS, NO SERVICE OR SUPPORT. If there any exceptions, we aren't aware of them. One last important item to consider about Chinese scooters. Try to get one titled at the local DMV. Many have NO EPA/DOT certifications and approvals, and do not comply with Federal or State laws. That is why these brands are found almost exclusively on the internet. The old adage "if it sounds too good to be true", in our opinion, applies here.
THE ALTERNATIVE OPTION: A 250 class Sym or Kymco scooter from MTB Inc! We have smaller displacement scooters, and the awesome Kymco Xciting 500. But the vast majority of our sales are of the 250 class. WHY? Because these machines will do anything you ask of them! Several different models to fit any rider. Cruiser models and serious perormance models. 90 mph top speed. Loaded with every feature and option a rider would ever want. Perfect for commuting, yet able to handle turnpike cruising all day long. Two-up riding a snap. They will do all this reliably day after day, year after year. The most versatile class of highway scooters on the market, and Sym and Kymco dominate this category. Now check out the cost. Right in between the other two above-listed options.
COMMITTMENT. We have more name-brand scooters on our floor than the average 3-4 scooter dealers combined! Highway scooters is our BUSINESS, not a sideline. We've been retailing these machines for 21 years. Not 6 months. Not a year or two. And we'll be here for you AFTER you've spent your hard-earned money.
Last, but most important, we SERVICE WHAT WE SELL. We feature a fully-stocked parts department, and a fully staffed service department. We know many potential customer will use these units for transportation, not just for fun! Like your car, you have a problem, you need it taken care of NOW, not weeks from now.
